Do you love to make quilt tops, but have no time to finish them? Orchard’s Edge can help. We offer a convenient machine quilting service. Our quilting is done by a hand-guided Gammill long-arm quilting machine. We do overall quilting, meandering, and echo quilting.
Quilt Patterns

We specialize in meandering, which is a jigsaw-like all over pattern. Meandering can be done in various sizes and can have other shapes scattered in with it - such as stars, hearts, flowers, and more!

Batting & Backing

We carry 100% cotton muslin backing in natural and white. Muslins come in widths of 90”, 108”, and 120”.

We also carry a variety of battings:

* Low and Extra loft Poly

Quilting Prices

Quilting is charged by the square yard. Prices increase with the complexity of the quilting.

Measure your quilt top in inches.
Length______x______=______sq. in.
Divide sq. in. by 1296 = ______ sq. yds.
Multiply square yards by the cost. This will give you an estimate of the quilting cost.

* Large meandering - 4”to 6” -$15/sq. yd.
* Overall Quilting (same design side to side, top to bottom) -$15-$17/sq. yd.
* Medium Meandering - 1” to 3” $17/sq. yd.
* Stippling and Echo Quilting - $20-$30/sq. yd.
* There is a minimum charge of $35.00 per quilt.

Other Costs

* More than one thread color - $5/color
* Preparing backing (piecing backing, pressing, squaring up) $15/hour
* Pressing backing and quilt top - $15/hour
Binding

Binding material may be sent with your quilt. On average, 1 yard of fabric will complete the binding.

We make a double fold binding that is applied by machine, both front and back.

Straight edge bindings: $0.15/inch

Unusual bindings (Scalloped edges, double wedding rings, etc.) $ 0.25/inch
